Studies:
October 2005: Master degree in Biotechnology at the University of Genoa (summa cum laude). Discussion of a thesis entitled: ”Expression and function of the molecule CD1d in B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia”;
March 21st 2009: Ph.D. in Clinical and Experimental Immunology at the University of Genoa. Discussion of a thesis entitled: “Human hematopoietic elements support survival and proliferation of human chronic lymphocytic leukemia B cells in immune-deficient mice”.



Professional experience:
March 2002 - December 2003. Internal student at the laboratory of Tib Molbiol (http://www.tib-molbiol.de/it/). In this period he participates at the developing of customized real-time PCR applications using FRET and Taqman probes.

January 2004 - October 2005. Internal student at the laboratory of the Human Anatomy Section, Department of Experimental Medicine, University of Genoa (director Prof. Carlo Enrico Grossi). In this period he took part to studies regarding the expression and the function of the monomorphic restriction element CD1d on leukemia derived cells (chronic lymphocytic leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia). In addition, he contributed to studies concerning the intraclonal diversification occurring in variable Heavy and Light Ig rearranged genes in B-CLL cells.

November 2005 - September 2006. Ph.D. student at the Section of Human Anatomy, Department of Experimental Medicine, University of Genoa (director Prof. Carlo Enrico Grossi). He is continuing studies related to the expression of CD1d in leukemic cells and its interaction with CD1d-restricted T cells. This study is mainly aimed at the evaluation of an immunotherapeutic protocol on leukemia xenografted immunodeficient mice. In addition, he is engineering CD1d molecule at the end of generating soluble receptors to be used for identification of CD1d-restricted T cells.

October 2006 – March 2009. Ph.D. student at The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, Manhasset NY, Department of Experimental Immunology (director Nicholas Chiorazzi). He developed a murine model of human B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

April 2009 – December 2010. Post doc at The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, Manhasset NY, Department of Experimental Immunology (director Nicholas Chiorazzi). He is continuing his work on the murine model developed during the Ph.D.

January 2011 – August 2014. Post doc at the Université Paris Descartes - Faculté de Médecine Necker in the lab directed by Jean-Claude Weill and Claude-Agnès Reynaud. He worked on the characterization of B cell subsets Ig repertoire in blood and spleen sample.
September 2014 – March 2017 Instructor (Junior Faculty) at The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, Manhasset NY, Department of Experimental Immunology (director Nicholas Chiorazzi). He is studying the human B cell immune repertoire in two different contexts: 1) of non leukemic B cells in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia patients and first degree relatives, and 2) in multiple lymphoid organs from single donors.
April 2017 – today. Adjunct Assistant Professor appointment at The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research.
April 2017 – today. Recipient of Fellowship in Oncology Fondazione Umberto Veronesi at the Department of Experimental Medicine, University of Genoa. He is continuing the work on B cell immune repertoire.
